Good Will

One of the best scenes in a movie ever.

I became a huge fan of Robin Williams after seeing that movie. I always liked his comedy (in an off-the-wall sort of way), but I never gave him much thought as a serious actor until I saw this one. The man is a genius. And of course it goes without saying that the writing (of the movie, and this scene in particular) is also brilliant.

You're right Jeff. Hard to believe he started out as Mork. (I'm sure that was long before your time.)

He's hairy all over.
But I'm glad he made it through his drug rehab and is still funny. Some can't make that transition and still have a sense of humor.
This is a VERY good movie. But Matt Damon is still an idiot, politically.

GB: Remember before Williams got REALLY well known the comparison between his impromptu wit with Johnathon Winters.

The difference is timing I suppose, Winters' wit was always G rated and was still funny, not that I'm above laughing at some pretty funny R rated comments occasionally.

I seem to recall there being some talk about Winters being on the edge of insanity. Maybe that extremely quick wit comes from part of the brain that isn't always hardwired. Could be a little like an "idiot savant" only their savant in in humor.

Williams, obviously is a genius at acting and impromptu. Damon is an amazing writer and actor, but he either has been so insulated in Hollywood as to disconnect from reality (a characteristic that I think is the first to go when becoming famous)or has always been far out there. I'm inclined to believe the former.
