When we were growing up, our dad loved country music. Back in the day when it was twangy and corny. None of us kids liked it, but there were rare exceptions.
Like this guy.
You can't get any better than Roger Miller.
Classic.
Roger Miller - King of the road
Today, my radio is nearly always turned to 95.5 on the dial. Yep, it's country music. Kenny, Carrie, Brad. I love it. But then again, it's not the Loretta Lynn stuff dad listened to.
But give me a Roger Miller song any day. Other old favorites: Wreck of 'ol 97, Running Bear, Your Cheatin Heart, Poor Ol Kaliga . I'm sure I'll think of others. Guess there was a little country music that was good back then.

On February 29, 2008 Kristofferson officially endorsed Barack Obama for President.[7] A member of Veterans for Peace, Kristofferson took several trips to Nicaragua with peace activist S. Brian Willson during the 1980s. He also opposes the Iraq War and has been calling for an end to it as demonstrated in his song "In The News".[8] In 2009, he described his political views on The Colbert Report as "left of liberal".
Ahh Kris, hand in your wings!
On the list!
