A Good Run

It's been 30 some odd days in a row I've managed a post of some kind, probably not my bests one by far.

That streak may come to an end this week.

Grandkids tonight, then tomorrow my "daughter" from Texas is coming up with her husband and twin girls for a few days, and then it's time to get things ready for Bobby's 65 birthday.

Nothing special, just a dinner out with the girls and the grandkids.

On Tuesday he had MOHS performed at his temple to remove some "minor" basal cell skin cancer. They had to go back on SIX times which left a very large hole about half the size of his ear (which are not small). He had them snap a picture before they sewed him up. The picture looks pretty ghastly so I won't post it here (although I'm tempted).

Last night my two brothers and my sister came over while Bob was out galvanting around somewhere.

I realized I could not remember the last time that just the four of us were together by ourselves. It was kinda strange really. No spouses, no kids, no grandkids.  Just the four of us. It was a wild time. Well not exactly. We watched a movie, waited for Bob to bring home pizza and just chatted.

Anyway, I will likely miss this daily post thing that I've been trying to manage. I doubt anyone will notice except for me.

When you said he had 'MOHS performed at this temple' my first thought was, damn, I didn't know he was Jewish. Then I read on.
Three weeks ago Judy had a cancderous spot about the size of a dime removed from her left jaw. It was pretty ugly, but the sewing was great. You can beat a Singer for neatness.

Joe had the MOHS and the hole was DEEP. I had two holes made in my legs yesterday, then the doctor FROZE both holes!! I've never heard of such a thing and I'm here to tell you, it was DAMN painful to get frozen below your skin and in a deep HOLE!

Should have read ON his temple, there are very very Temples in Indiana that aren't on people"s heads. The worst part is trying to fit someone's head under that sewing machine Coffey.

Never heard of freezing the either Dana.

The every day thing is hard work.

Your post made me think of my two brothers who are gone.

Take advantage of every moment you have. The supply is limited.

Joe. You're right. Now instead of just writing something I write, I feel an OBLIGATION to write.

I don't even want to imagine Jess. All of us are oast middle age, unless we can live from 110 to 120.

I am very VERY blessed with my family. Somehow my mom and dad did manage to raise kids who grew to be adults that care most about each other and then my brothers and sister managed to raise a second generation that have done the same.

I expect no less than that from the third generation, although the oldest is just 13. But he's setting the most amazing example you can imagine.

I didn't always know that all families weren't like ours. I have seen too many that thrive on drama and fights.

No thanks.

As you suggested. Life's too short.
