The government......has issued a proclamation asking the people to be patient and put up with hardships just a little longer.......... to raise everybody's standard of living and provide a roast of pork every Sunday for every man, woman, child and abortion in the People's State of America.
Now the planners are asking people not to blame the government, but to blame the depravity of the rich.
OK, I'll fess up. I didn't write that. Well, I typed it, but I didn't write it. And I changed the word in italics.
But someone, anyone PLEASE explain to me how those words were written in 1957.
It's a conspiracy. A grand conspiracy, I tell you. Either that or the author was our first evidence of a time traveler.

That's a great book that seems to apply more and more each day.
Honestly I have never taken this long to read a book. My brother has been bugging me for a long time to read it and I normally can zoom through a book once I start it, but I keep finding myself rereading what I just read because it's virtually impossible to believe it wasn't written today. Kinda scary impossible.
So I'm ONLY on page 119 of over 1,000 page book.
I'd really like to take notes while I'm reading it, but normally I'm reading before I drift off to sleep and that's been WAY too late recently.
see i tol ya, when you finish reading the book you can borrow my Blu ray of the movie
Well, I guess I will finally have to let you be right, FOR ONCE.
One time out of 50 years. How's that feel?
I think what shocked me more than anything about that particular section was she wrote "every man, woman, child and ABORTION".
I really was shocked she wrote that. I'm thinking this was written in 1957!!! Reading that made me feel like someone was pulling my leg on this book being around since 1957. I knew it was true, but dang, some of the ideas are freaky relevant.
I've read a lot of books, but never one that I wanted to rush through AND savor every word or thought.
Hi Rita, I'm currently reading a novel by Steve Berry entitled "The Emperor's Tomb" and I had the same thing happen. This book takes place in Communist China and the 2nd highest Chinese leader, Karl Tang, is remembering words from another official, Pau Wen, while they were coming up with a plot to take over control of the government. Read this excerpt:
"Replace the beams and pillars with rotten timber. Tang understood the proverb perfectly. Sabotage, destroy, or otherwise remove the key structures sustaining an opponent and substitute for them your own. Incapacitate your adversary from the inside. "When the wheels are held up," Pau Wen said, " the chariot can't move. When the beams and pillars are withdrawn, the house will fall asunder."
Doesn't that sound exactly like the Obamanation agenda?
FW: Which leaves me with this question....Why? Why would someone want to do that?
Are they honest people THINKING they are more compassionate and don't understand the basic concepts of "teach a man to fish"?
Or are they merely use to their warped way of life and like the thugs in countries like Venezuela, caring nothing about the underclass, only how they can benefit more?
Great excerpt from a great book, Rita. I've worked my way through it twice, the second time just this past summer. It had much more impact this time, because it's so true to our present situation. I disagree with a great deal of Ayn Rand's personal philosophies and beliefs, but the concept of personal responsibility and small government control over our lives is so appealing and so much what I believe our founders had in mind for our country.
Too bad the movie (Part I) didn't live up to its potential (i.e., it sucked.) I doubt that we'll ever see Part II.
There's nothing compassionate about dictators, which is what Obama and his minions aspire to be. As for their so called superior intellect? If they were really "all that" they'd be successful capitalists. So I have to say I conclude they are ignorant, evil, avaricious thugs who must be defeated
.
FW: Never really believed anyone has "superior intellect" (see my post below). I believe some people THINK they are and masquerade behind a bunch of bull to prove it more to themselves than anyone else.
Hell, even Stephen Hawkings said the other day the world's greatest mystery was......women!
I had to laugh at that one. Maybe if Mr. Hawkings would be a little less smug of his belief he's here because of some cosmic blast he might actually understand the concept of...women.
Babs: I used to read so much and now I waste too much time reading the "news" and junk online. I'm skeptical of most of it, I'd prefer to go to the source. Such as the OWS junk. I read their "minutes" and other stuff they post directly. It's quite different than what you hear on TV. I believe the unions are behind the money, but they've handed it to their spoiled bratty kids and they fight constantly over it.
But I digress...
Until now, I've only seen some basics of the infamous novel online. I was basically assuming it would take a while to get into, but boy, was I wrong.
Fascinating.
I started to look online today and then realized I would likely spoil the remaining 90% of the book, so I'll research more when I'm done.
I thought the rich people were the politicians? I want to tell the politicians to tighten their belts and see what happens. I also wonder if the country's debts could be lessened if their postage wasn't free. I mean, ya gotta start somewhere...
I gotta agree with you Rita
Great mind's think alike.
Then there's you and me...
Shhhhh Dana. None of us are supposed to realize that the idiots in Washington are actually the ones profitting from this bull they force down our throats.
No. No. They don't want anyone to know the "rich" people they would like to hang are the same guys that put their profit into their companies and provided me with over 30 years of employment.
They want to convince the young people (and so many of them believe it) that "corporations" owned by "millionaires" are evil and because you can run a cash register you should be paid as much as someone who take the risk of owning and investing in their own company and have the ability to make good money.
Now, Now Ed. You should know by now how I love a good (natured) fight. I already put my two cents in over at that mean guy's place who used to beat me as a child. I won't mention CnC/Mark by name, but you'll get my drift.
It amazes me that these socialist never seem to realize that the only ones to prosper and get richer are the leaders. The rest have to sacrifice to benefit them. Dumb-ass's.
Coffeepot. They are the Eloi. They are cattle for their masters.
And they are as dark and sinister as the Morlocks, too. The rules are for everyone else as long as I get fed and you work for me.
