Kids that would be future:
Steve Jobs
Mark Zuckerberg
Bill Gates
You can say what you want about capitalism or about the three guys noted above, but HOW MANY JOBS have been created by these guys who were mere kids with some vision?
My Iphone is sad tonight.
RIP Steve.

Amazing how long he stayed on the job.
He looked so sick when they announced his retirement, there was no mistaking what was to come. My uncle died of pancreatic cancer, but I was really surprised at how long he lasted compared to my dad's liver cancer.
I bet half or more don't even know what they are protesting. Just apart to the crowed having fun.
amen!!,,your post says it all! have a great rest of the day~:)
No matter if you were an Apple or PC disciple, or didn't care about having an iPhone, iPod, or iPad, or liked to laugh at the ridiculous amount of money people lined up to pay for the early versions of these things, you have to give Steve Jobs credit for revolutionizing technology in today's world. Men like him come around only every few generations. He will be missed.
I started my career using Pentel pencils and paper, seeing the first PC which had no hard drive and watching the evolution of the way we now get our news online, guys like Jobs, Gates and even Zuckerberg have truly changed the entire world. It's mind boggling if you think about it. I think Gates was only a pirate who knew enough to take HP's product and make us incapable of doing business without electricity.
What's infuriating is watching the punks on Wall Street complaining about corporate greed while recording everything on their Iphones and laptops and being thrilled that Michael Moore and George Soros is supporting them.
Someone tell me my grandchildren will never be this clueless.
This may sound odd but since I work in the area you can take this any way you wish.
I was walking North from the Ferry to my job. I have a weakness for candy corn. I took my bag and passed some hygienically challenged loons who were dressed like zombies and did smell like something was rotting. One pointed out I didn't need the bag and could miss a meal or two. In the spirit of Halloween I gave the bag up.
I will point out that these idiots think they are in but actually people on St Marks have been dressing like the undead for thirty years or more. Some people call them Goths, but I prefer the term nerd.
No doubt this act will be followed by adults in underoos wanting to be Batman.
Rita, I read that Jobs had a less virulent form of pancreatic cancer because you're right..seven years is almost seven years more than most pancreatic cancer patients get when they're finally diagnosed.
It was a sad day......
Maybe BIll Gates will take Jobs' advice and drop LSD and join an Ashram so he and microsoft won't be 'so narrow'? :-)
