Damn Right, "Shoot him again"

Beware if you are a woman protecting her kids tonight in New York. Nanny Bloomberg will now take away your ability to protect your children.

Oh.... And the idiot legislature in New York were in such a hurry to pass their idiotic legislation that will not stop criminals FORGOT to exclude the police officers and military from their weapons ban.

So tonight every police office in NY is a criminal and every criminal now has the ability to outgun the police.

Remind me not to visit there anytime soon.

If it saves at least one child (as long as it's mine, or the child of an important campaign donor ) then gun laws are worth it.

It's good to know politicians want your children to be safe....as long as you're important and have money.

She is my hero, but she needs more practice. He lived!

Exactly Jess. And every single politician voting for these gun bans have their own children protected by armed security.

If they actually believed someone should not have a right to protect themselves, then they should send the security officers home and save the taxpayer money for the security.

Hypocrites.

I love hearing the pride in this husband's voice, Coffey. He actually kind of chuckles when the 911 operator suggests she's upset. It's the sound of victory. He had taken her to a shooting range and taught her how to handle that very situation. If she had had a bigger weapon or more bullets he would be dead. If she lived in NY she would be.

I'm leaning a little to this being beyond hypocrisy. If society is dangerous enough to warrant armed guards, and only a select few can afford armed guards, where is the logic in removing the only other means for someone to protect their self or their family?

I think the progressives painted themselves into a corner with this one. I don't know how they'll react, but the fight is coming and they might find the media doesn't have their back any more.

The media like David Gregory? Of course they will continue to support them. Progressives like the media never see their own hypocrisy.

"It's good for me, but not for thee".

You know damned good and well Bloomberg and his minions called for EXTRA security tonight.

Hollowpoints. The only mistake this mother made. She should've been loaded up with hollowpoints, this guy would've never gotten off the floor. Other than that, a textbook example of why anyone who has a gun in the home needs to not only know how to use it, but train for the possibility that they may need to someday.

And as far as NY and Obama's "executive orders" go, let the court battles begin.

I have ideas in my head of what I would do in this situation, but realistically you wouldn't know until you are faced with it.

Years ago I was heading to my parking garage downtown in the middle of the day because I had a doctor's appt. before I got to outside door my boss saw me and kind of jumped out of the door at me.

I was perfectly safe, broad daylight, on the sidewalk oin view of dozens of people and yet he surprised me.

What did I do? I screamed like a banshi. Loud. And LONG. I was even telling myself to stop screaming because I knew who it was and I was safe, but my lungs just kept belting out a loud scream. I realized then that until you are in that situation you really do not know how you will react.

I want to believe I could be this woman, and I never want to find out I could be.

My only question...

Why would she call her husband and not 9-1-1?

Yes, know how to defend yourself but dang. Call the police, too.

I know. But she obviously knew she could rely on his guidance best. He talked her through it probably better than an unknown 911 operator could. Maybe she also realized that in her rural area no one could reach her in time anyway so she called him, he called 911 and he talks her through what they practiced together.

It's amazing really, when you hear him shhhhh-king her and telling her to remember what he had taught her. In this situation everyone did exactly what was needed to pull it off.

It's chilling to hear him say, "shoot him again, shoot him". It's like he's right there with her protecting his family.

Do you think Bloomberg could be as brave as either the husband or his wife? Not a chance in hell.

Did you see the movie "Taken"?
What if SHE had had a gun?
Much shorter movie.

Haven't seen the movie Ed. I'll have to google it.

Just yesterday evening my husband and I were in a convenience store. We had filled out our lottery ticket forms and were heading for the registers. Three young, very big men were already there (between us and the exit), arguing with the cashier. I moved behind my husband (as he would want me to do), and reached into my coat pocket and put my hand on my gun. My husband was doing the same thing. He also managed to make eye contact with one of the men, holding his stare for a few seconds. The men then left, although still apparently fuming. Probably nothing...but it felt good knowing we could have done something if necessary.

Once you've shot an intruder, KEEP SHOOTING. Your house. Your rules.

And after he's dead, you won't be sued for crippling him so he can't find gainful employment.

I believe in gun control. That's why I go to the range as often as possible, so I can control my S & W 9 mil if and when a POS comes into my house intent on doing me bodily harm. If you walk in, and I warn you that I am armed but you keep on coming - well, you won't be walking out.

Her only mistake was her aim. And her use of a revolver, limiting her to six shots. My clip holds 17, and you can bet that all 17 of those beauties would have done their jobs. Only practicing gun control on a regular basis can make that happen.

And Ed - if she'd had a gun in "Taken", we wouldn't have been able to watch Liam Neeson kick some serious ass!

Interesting that you three babes are all packing heat. I have a permit to carry, but I need to get comfortable having a gun in my hand. All I know is I want you all you guys right there with me if I ever encounter some asshole that needs a lesson in right and wrong.

Babs said...

I don't carry - yet. I haven't been shooting long enough to feel comfortable with that responsibility anywhere but at the range and as protection in my own home. But I know I will reach a point where I am that confident and that comfortable. It's like anything else - practice and repetition make for mastery of most any tool. We all get behind the wheel and think nothing of it, but there was a time when we all were beginners. Guns are in a different category, but require the same type of learning curve.

Thankfully, I am confident enough that if a dirtbag came into my house I would feel very, very prepared.
