I don't know why I'm just seeing your comment Z. Not photoshopped at all. You don't see shadows because it was getting toward dusk and I was using a flash.
Bob says it's all in placing your arms and hands in the right position on the right pole. His oldest daughter got it, his youngest missed that your elbow goes into your abdomen.
Of course I knew I could not do it, but our grandson picked up the trick right away.
I'm sure the acrobats you see in Las Vegas know it well. They really can balance themselves at a 90 degree angle.
