This is 1,700 high-paying positions. Obviously it's just a discussion at this stage, but this is the part that so many people do not understand.
When tax rates become too high, companies seek a better position. If they moved, the new city would be even more willing to cut more tax deals as those 1,700 jobs will also be taxed, so ultimately the state with less tax rates actually receive more tax benefit. Why is that so hard to understand?
Please Illinois, continue to be stupid, Indy can use the jobs. I know I need one.

many companies are leaving Chicago, NY and California due to high taxes. Thanks, Democrats!
There is something seriously wrong with this scenario...
It'd be like Wall Street moving to Maine.
Good grief. What the hell are we doing?

I got online and signed the right to work petition for the drive to get that law passed in Indiana
Chicago also has a downstate legislator that wants to separate Chicago from the rest of the state because of the drain it has on their resources.
I wouldn't want to claim Chicago either. It's funny, I've read a couple liberal websites that are actually still saying they wish Mitch Daniels had run for President.
For gawd's sake, stay in Indiana. It's the only 'barely sane' place left.
Oh, I'm not considering moving to Chicago. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange is considering moving HERE.
