The Smartest Man in America
“If the US Government was a family, they would be making $58,000 a year, they spend $75,000 a year and have $327,000 in credit card debt. They are currently proposing BIG spending cuts to reduce their spending to $72,000 a year. These are the actual proportions of the federal budget & debt, reduced to a level that we can understand.”

If I remember it correctly, there were many broadcasts a few years back blaming "the people" for the bad economy for doing exactly what you said. Borrowing more than they made and could pay back.
But at least "the people" were going into debt without using other citizen's money to do so.
Yes. Then began the long stock market slide that took my hard earned savings, and now the government is looking at my social security and licking their lips.
I've never assumed I would actually get any SS. When Bob turned 62 last year we decided we better start drawing on his SS while it's still there.
Never counted on it. But watching the 401k's take a dive is like hiding your eyes while going off the edge of the cliff.
Too bad we didn't just bury the money in the backyard.
Did you catch the video I posted (Economics 101)?
I heard Ramsey say this on air and wished that I had written it down.
Thanks.
I did. Loved the video. Saw that you actually posted in youtube. Did you pick that piece out yourself? Great video. Loved the one about the doorbell too. Scary times.
Yeah, it took me hours to go through so many software downloads to get the tools to do that. Thanks for watching it.
The doorbell one is from a Powerline contest. Other good stuff there. All scary.
