It does. Reading stories like that just make me cry.
When I saw that picture on the news, it ripped my heart out. Too many people do not understand the bond an animal has for its human. I heard that the man's army buddy was going to "take" the dog and give it a home. I hope he's compassionate enough to have understanding for the mourning and separation anxieties that dog will be going through.
