But I cannot forget that this man gave me comfort at a time when I thought the world was ending. And I cannot forget that I believe he stuck by what he believed regardless of whether the polls were with him or not.
Liberals of course run the gamut of saying he masterminded 9/11 to saying he was a complete idiot. A dichotomy which doesn't match up.
Conservatives complain because he spent too much money. I believe all bets were off after 9/11. Having worked in the financial industry, I still don't have an opinion on the first TARP bailout. I spent 30 years in the industry and I remember thinking about how many businesses would be affected if we had originally let it all fail.
I know one thing, I don't know the answer and I don't believe anyone else does either, regardless of their politics or supposed intellect.
I believe history will treat this man much more kindly than today's generation does.
9/11 changed everything for me. He would not have been my first choice for President his first go-round, but 8 months later I relished in his faith, strength and leadership and I thanked God he was leading our nation.
I cannot for the life of me imagine anyone else being a true leader at the scariest time for America.
God Bless you President Bush. And I don't care who I offend by saying that.
