Rita said...: Thx Kim. The house seems so quiet tonight even though he only mostly whispered his kitty calls and he liked to hog the end of my recliner.

Rita said...: Thx HB and Laura. We've been having some tough times anyway and this loss really hit us much harder than we anticipated.

We see his little ghost everywhere we go in the house. Every time I would start down the stairs he would give me a "head start", when I reached the landing he would zoom past me nearly tripping me until he had me trained to stop on the step where he would pass.

Opening a milk jug would make him come running because he knew I would throw the plastic ring which he would carry around and finally we would find several, always in his food bowl.

When our grandson was small and played with legos and small soldiers, we would find them a couple days later, laying in his food bowl.

We are just barely getting used to entering the house without him coming running for a treat.
