We've been fans of Deadliest Catch before their budget could afford the fancy camera work. I can't remember if the first episodes had Mike Rowe's now infamous voice, but I'm certain the show has made him even more famous.
The only thing better than looking at Mike Rowe is hearing his voice.
Captain Phil has always been a favorite. We've always called Captain Jonathan, Russell as he looks like our grandson's other grandfather.
His brother Andy has a large horse farm in Indiana. Edgar Hansen from the Northwester is beginning to sound like he is ready to give up fishing because it is costing too much time away from his family.
And this guy is just one big jerk.
Although I haven't verified it, I'm fairly certain the idea for the show came from another Discovery Channel's show which was called Ten Deadliest Jobs. I still remember the #1 Deadliest Job was the Alaskan Crab Fishermen.
So, if you are a fan of the show at all, by now you've heard that everyone's beloved Captain Phil passed away from a massive stroke.
So, while this show was supposed to be a manly show, it has turned into the ultimate chick flick that makes even the big guys cry.
Farewell Capt Phil. We'll "sea" you on the other side.
Just finished watching the two hour episode. Now THAT's the way to celebrate someone's life. Not with tears, but with laughter.

Capt. Andy Hillstrand has a horse farm close to evansville, in Chandler Indiana He was a champion barrel racer and teaches barrel racing in his off time.
I was thinking it was Hillstrand, but then I was thinking that Edgar was getting torn not being with his family.
But the real question CnC is....did you cry like a little girl? GB isn't embarrassed to say he would.
Not me, I just got some dust in my eyes that's all.
one thing I like about that show is, the guys on there are real men, not some woossy type guys like Justin Timberlake. I didn't know Mike Rowe was considered hot, he's just a seem like a real cool guy and a manly kinda man like me haha
Maybe only middle age females find Mike Rowe hot. His voice alone throws me over the top.
As for you CnC, I'll ask Bob if he finds you hotter than Mike Rowe.
I LOVE this show and I love Mike Rowe. I also watch the swordfish fishing show which honestly looks more dangerous- they show men falling out of the ships and getting cut up and banged around by these monster fish wayyyy more than the crabbers, it's just not as cold.
So, Laura. The question from my brother is....do you find Mike Rowe hot??
