It seemed as if it was maybe twice a year when I was a kid that a certain song would blare out of our console TV with the words, "Oh Lamb of God, I come. I come. ".
Decades of the honorable Reverend Graham calling the masses to "Come up. Come up".
Tomorrow night he will grace our TV once again. At 10 pm, Rev. Graham special, My Hope America will air on Fox News.
Let me clarify.
With the exception of Graham, I have found that all TV "preachers" to be horrible charlatans.
I related this story over a GEEZ a month or so ago.
Since marrying Bob, now going on close to 23 years ago, I had never spent a night home alone until six years ago when he went down to our newly closed Fort Myer home to continue decorating the place. (Yes, surprisingly he is very chick-like in his decorating skills, so I can trust him on this task).
The first night alone in our two story house I was not afraid, but I was not overly secure either. I leave a lot of lights on in the house when he's gone, even now. I want it to look like no one can enter by hiding in the darkness of an unlit house. (I also have a loaded gun on my nightstand and by my chair downstairs. :D. )
At that time I also decided I wanted to have the TV left on all night.
That first night I woke up around 1 and our bedroom TV was then on someone I had never heard of. This scum was standing in an absolutely humongous arena.
Then I began to listen to his words. He was telling the crowd that Jesus wanted all of them to be rich. And he wasn't referring to a quality of life rich, he was talking MONEY. MONEY RICH. and that was all he talked about for the entire time I listened.
I sat up and was just appalled. Having a restless night anyway, I got up and googled him. And I was sickened at another scum convincing so many people to send him money so God could make them rich.
I imagine Ol' Joel has those stairs behind him lined in gold.
I am constantly surprised by how many people that I know personally that think Olsteen is not a Jimmy Swaggart wannabe. Well, actually he's probably past Swaggart in money terms. I cannot even stand to look at his super whitened teeth.
I would first send my money to Nigeria over this scummy scam.
I hope I can wash that image of his fake smile from my memory tomorrow when the 95 year old Graham's special airs tomorrow night.
I've set my DVR. I hope I'm not disappointed.
If I've offended anyone who just loves Olsteen! I really sorry. But I'm more sorry that you could think he was legit.

I drove past the Billy Graham library in Charlotte twice this week!
I believe Billy is the ONLY true Christian in public view. HE even offers his tax returns to the public. But I have to say, watching Ernest Angley is hilarious.
Can't say I've ever watch any of them for more than the minute it takes to change the channel, except for Graham.
Graham has always conducted himself with humility and grace. He never needed, or used, a gimmick or stood in front of a golden thrown, a church of glass, cried for money, or grinned like a sidewalk hustler.

You can say that again LJ.
Joel Olsteen is guilty of having a big ego.
To have the biggest church.
His dad started the church in a strip center and then to a small building-and to a litter bigger one.
There were a lot of stories of people trying to leave the church and receiving a note about their last breath.
He died then Joel took over with the drive to clean up the church image.
And then to have the biggest in the country.
He met that goal and that goal.
Joel married into money-his wife is loaded (her family).
They don't take any money from the church.
The Sunday take is for the mortgage, and a lot of charity; with what is leftover after bank payment.
He has sold several books and has his own money now.
But, if you want some skinny, their last Sunday take was taken.
March 9, 2014. Or the Sunday
600,000---200,000 in cash.
The police are on it - but the rumors are someone on the inside must have done it.
The only thing about him that most don't like is his milk and honey sermons--not much to feed the soul.
A milk and honey church meeting only goes for so long, if they keep the milk and honey thing going -it's for building the congregation and padding their pocket book.
But, then again, real preachers usually are run off for telling the true word. Unless it is their own church, then the adversary's agents infiltrate and cause trouble that takes down a good church and the real preacher.
Thx for coming by TS. My issue with Olsteen was not his money or his mega-church, it was his message.
All I heard him say that entire night was about how God wants you to be rich. Not in spirit rich, but money rich. Up the whole sermon was about money. It was disgusting.
There was no message to feed the spirit, soothe the soul. Only money money money.
My church started in some people's homes and then to a strip mall and now in a nice new building.
And they never pass around the plate. They don't have too. The congregation just gives freely because they deliver a God centered message.
Without the Armani suits.
