YOU ARE HEREBY SUMMONED TO APPEAR FOR JURY SELECTION....
Yeah, I won the lottery, even though I tried to explain that I am a self-employed contractor and added "primary wage earner" since Bob is semi-retired.
Last year that worked for being excused, not so much this year. They left a message on my voicemail that said that was not sufficient reason to be excused.
Just got my notice in the mail today.
Not to worry though, they will pay me a whopping $15 for the day and $40 a day if I'm actually selected. Hopefully they'll dismiss me so I won't lose another day's wages.
I'm going to make sure they understand that I am related to police officers, they NEVER want someone related to a cop on jury duty, they may actually believe in siding with the law, weird, huh?
Honestly I would be fascinated to be called for jury duty, if it just didn't cost me alot of money to serve.

I have received that summons at least a dozen times. I served twice. The first time was on a Federal Grand Jury -- two or three days a week, every other week, for almost a year. My employer was not happy.
The second time I actually was picked was on a petit jury for a drug case. Two days. the prosecutor did all he could to lose a slam-dunk case. Luckily there was enough evidence to gain the conviction, but it was closer than it should have been.
I think I have done my share of the jury thing. It is someone else's turn.
