I try never to write anything about work. I make sure that every post would be something I could defend if it was suddenly front page news.
So today, all I can say is this was me:
"Welcome to the party, pal".
If you don't remember this part, it was when McClane was trying to get help from the police. The cruiser had pulled up and looked around, but didn't get there was a big problem in the building. McClane blasts the cruiser with his automatic weapon. When the cop backs up and goes off an embankment after the car was riddled with shots and McClane says this great line.
Suffice it to say, I'm not exactly ONE person's favorite right now and I like it that way.

I've managed others off and on since I was a teen. I've found. as you probably have, there are several ways to lead/manage others:
-Some don't need constant management. If they are performing their jobs well, leave 'em alone.
-Some need a little praise and guidance now and then. Provide it.
-Some have to be poked with a cattle prod. Ya kinda have to make these folks fear you. And that's a shame, isn't it?
"Welcome to the party, pal. Would you like another jolt?"
Absolute GB. I love giving those whatever help I can provide when they overwork themselves. I think I'm really good at the praise and guidance thingy and I relish wielding the cattle prod on those that are long past due.
I think I'm damned good at my job, but that's just me.
Come and use your cattle prod on my co-worker. The bosses' opinion is (and I've heard them say it), that this is just the way she is, and they can't change her. In that case, why don't they just get rid of her?
They've got to either move me or her. I've told them before to just stick me in a damned broom closet so I am not forced to put up with her BS.
